【作品紹介】秘密の庭園 〜アクリル絵の具で描くテクスチャーアート〜
この作品は、私にとって初めてヘビーボディのメディウムを使ったテクスチャーアートの絵画です。
テーマは「秘密の庭で蝶を追いかける幼い少女」。
幻想的な雰囲気の、夢の中で見たような光景を印象的に描いてみました。

この絵の主役は少女ですが、実は一番力を入れて描いたのは、手前に舞う花びらです。
ふわふわと風に揺れる花びらの質感が、少女の軽やかなシフォンのスカートや、追いかける蝶の儚さとリンクして、作品全体をより詩的な印象に仕上げてくれました。
また、全体の色調はやさしいパステルトーンで統一し、少女の無垢な心や夢見る世界を表現しています。
作品のこだわりポイント
幻想的な雰囲気と立体感を出すために、以下のような工夫をしてみました：
- 風に舞う花びらをハードタイプのジェルメディウムで立体的に仕上げ、ペインティングナイフで一枚一枚丁寧に描きました。
- 花びらたちの上から色を幾重にも重ね、薄明かりの中に浮かび上がるような光の効果を意識しました。
- 光と影を繊細に描き分けることで、幻想的な雰囲気をさらに引き立てました。
制作を通して学んだこと
この絵では、U-35 ヘビージェルメディウムを使ったテクスチャー表現に初めて挑戦しました。
このメディウムは、乾くと透明になり、ナイフで塗ったときの筋がくっきり残るのが特徴です。
そこに色を重ねることで、自然な陰影を作り出すことができました。
また、今後はこのジェルを使って、ごつごつとした岩肌や荒々しい水の流れなど、不規則な質感を生かした表現にも挑戦してみたいと感じました✨

【Artwork Introduction】”The Secret Garden” – A Textured Acrylic Painting
This piece is my very first attempt at creating a textured painting using heavy body medium.
The theme is:
“A young girl chasing butterflies in a secret garden.”
I aimed to capture a dreamlike and fantastical atmosphere—like a scene from a memory or a fleeting dream.

Although the girl is the main subject of this piece, the petals in the foreground are actually where I poured most of my energy.
The soft, floating petals reflect the flutter of the girl’s chiffon skirt and the delicate butterfly she is chasing.
This link between elements adds a poetic touch to the entire composition.
The overall color palette is unified in gentle pastel tones to express the innocence of the girl and the tender world she dreams of.
Artistic Highlights & Techniques
To emphasize the dreamy atmosphere and create a strong sense of texture, I tried the following techniques:
- I used hard-type gel medium to give a three-dimensional effect to the fluttering petals, applying each one carefully with a palette knife.
- Multiple layers of color were added over the petals to create a glowing effect, as if they are softly illuminated in the twilight.
- I incorporated subtle light and shadow to enhance the magical, ethereal feeling of the scene.
What I Learned Through This Piece
In this painting, I experimented with U-35 Heavy Gel Medium for the first time.
This gel medium allows for strong, defined edges and dries to a transparent finish.
When applied with a knife, the grooves remain crisp even after drying, creating visible textures that catch the light beautifully once color is added.
I also realized that this medium could be really interesting when used for rougher textures like rocky surfaces or flowing water, where irregularity becomes part of the charm.
This piece, “The Secret Garden,” holds precious memories, longings from my childhood, and little heart-fluttering moments of inspiration.
I hope it gently tells a tiny story to the hearts of those who view it.
