【作品紹介】雨の日のステップ
水たまりで遊ぶ２歳の娘
その無邪気な姿を、水彩でみずみずしく描きました。
この作品のテーマは、
「みずたまりに映る自分の姿を楽しむ、幼い日の娘」。
咲き始めたばかりの紫陽花が、梅雨の季節感をそっと添えています。
🎨 こだわりポイント
今回は、私にとってかけがえのない幼児期の娘を描きましたが、
見る方それぞれが「自分の大切な記憶と重ねて想像できるように」との思いから、
あえて足元だけにクローズアップした構図にしています。
黄色の長靴は、子どもらしさを象徴する大切なアイテム。
実は「くまのパディントン」デザインのもので、とてもお気に入りでした。
カラフルなレインボー柄のレインポンチョと黄色の長靴という
子供らしい雨の日のコーディネートも、この作品の見どころのひとつです。
水たまりの映り込みには、青や赤をにじませながら、
光の反射を意識して表現しました。
✍️ 制作をとおして学んだこと
紫陽花は、季節感を演出するためにあしらいましたが、
あくまで主役は人物の存在感。
そのため、一番手前に配置しながらも、くっきり描きすぎず、
少しぼかした表現にとどめています。
また、水たまりの輪郭にはマスキングを使いましたが、
次回はもう少し繊細な筆で、より綿密に白抜きできたらいいなと感じました✨

Little Footprints in the Puddle
A watercolor piece capturing my 2-year-old daughter playing in a puddle.
I painted this with a fresh and gentle touch to reflect the innocence of a rainy day.
The theme of this artwork is:
“A young girl enjoying her reflection in a puddle.”
Freshly bloomed hydrangeas quietly express the early summer rain.
🎨 Artistic Focus
Though I painted this as a cherished memory of my daughter’s toddler years,
I intentionally focused only on her feet—
so that viewers can project their own childhood memories onto the scene.
The yellow rain boots, inspired by Paddington Bear, are a playful and symbolic detail.
Paired with a rainbow-colored poncho, this childlike outfit adds a sweet charm to the composition.
For the puddle reflections, I blended blues and reds to express light and water merging naturally.
✍️ Reflections from the Process
Hydrangeas were included to convey the season,
but since the main subject is the child,
I kept the flowers soft and blurry, even when placed at the front.
I also experimented with masking to preserve white areas in the puddle’s rings.
Next time, I’d like to try using a finer brush to create more delicate, precise lines.
